Randy Baker is the new owner of Superior

Baker tells
of a recent customer who had a car that would not start.
The customer was given an estimate to replace the
starter and approved the job. Baker’s technicians
discovered during the repair process that the problem
was simply due to a bad wire, not the starter.
Baker considers himself answerable to a higher
authority, and maintains his business according to his
religious principles. “I know it is possible to sell
repairs that are not needed – To me that is lying.” And
he means it.
“We are all faced with choices
every day. I chose to do the right thing. We repaired
the bad wire and fixed the car for ˝ the estimated
cost,” says Baker. “I knew that if I put the new starter
on anyway, nobody would ever know except God & I. He
trusts me to care for people and their cars.”
Ben Taylor and Brad Haaby, Superior’s
technicians, have a full range of skills to round out
the staff. “Ben is an ACE certified master technician
with dealership level training. He brings all this to
the private industry,” according to Baker. “Brad, has a
fresh enthusiasm, the energy of youth and enthusiasm and
successful training at a nationally recognized school
(Wyotech), that fits in well with real life.”
Among the three men, there are more than 50
years of automotive experience that their customers can
rely on. Baker himself is a seasoned professional
technician, has previously owned a successful auto shop,
and taught automotive technology at the college level
for several years.
